Geographic Coverage AreaAll counties, but our office covers only the southern portion of the state.
Description of ProgramUSFWS identifies candidate species, other at-risk or imperiled species and provides conservation recommendations that can remove or reduce threats for these species.Non-federal landowners entering into an agreement would implement voluntary conservation efforts. The incentive offered to the landowners is a reduction in liability under the Endangered Species Act in exchange for conservation measures. Resources are leveraged by facilitating funding for landowners to engage in voluntary conservation.
